Orkney Folk Festival

Stromness has been filled with musicians, instruments, sessions, gigs and ale for the weekend at the Orkney Folk Festival. There are five main venues throughout the town, mostly centred on ‘the street’, with the bars full and the vibe relaxed and friendly. You can drift through the town dropping in on sessions and catching sounds from all over the world. The sessions are free and the heartbeat of the festival. I took my GPS out for a walk to try and capture some of the buzz. Here are the drawings from two events:
